My first blog!!! I did it!!!
This week in math we discussed functions, coordinates, and graphs. I was pretty excited about this chapter because one of my favorite things is graphs and functions. I am terrible at math, but function and graphs come easy to me! There were two group activities. I really enjoyed the first lesson because i won a snickers!!!! He was also upbeat and funny! The second lesson that was taught was also good. I wish she would have had a little more time to explain everything but the way she had us cut out the paper to understand the numeration systems was pretty unique!!
I used this this site to help me remember how graphing was done. Basically you have to have to points such as (2,3) you would go over to the right 2 and up 3 on the graph and dot your point. If your point was (-2,3) you would go over to the left 2 and up 3. Go ahead and try to plot these same points using this graph.
So far I am enjoying this class. It is a bit overwhelming. I feel like there is so much to do, and I am worried I'm going to forget some stuff. Although, its a good challenge. I'm looking forward to this class and all the things that Amy is going to teach us!!!
Leanne, congrats on the Snickers! Graphs have never been one of my strong points so I'm glad that you are comfortable with them. Maybe you can give some pointers. I agree that both students did a great job! I also agree that it would have been nice for the second lesson to have more time.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing better than you winning the Snickers would have been you winning the Snickers and donating it to the few of us who didn't eat lunch that day! But you won because you like graphs... Hope you continue enjoying the class. There is a lot of information!
Math use to be my FAVORITE subject. However, through the years I have grew apart from numbers. I find it to be extremely difficult now that I'm reaching 30. Like you, I also worry if I will retain the information and remember everything taught each week. I do try to stay positive, so I'm passing the positive energy to you.....STAY ENCOURAGED and ask questions!

and Shayna its so much.. and between 3 other classes and 2 other jobs.. its so much. Im just gonna work hard now so i dont have to retake it!!
